We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Wow!  So where have I been all month? Well, I have graduated college with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and a degree and Computer Engineering Technology.  I can't believe I finished.  I am so proud of myself and can't wait for the beginning of a new exciting chapter.

Here are some pictures of my Graduation:

The weekend after graduation was Christmas.  Which turned out to be an incredible Christmas.  It was relaxing, the food turned out amazing, and everyone had a blast.   We had a poached egg and bacon salad and butternut squash soup for a starter.  And then Turducken, broccoli casserole, macaroni and cheese, a sweet potato casserole.  And yes you read that right, a turducken.  We do a turducken every year for Christmas.  For those of you who don't know what a Turkucken is, it is a deboned turkey with a debone duck inside it with a deboned hen inside the duck.  Yes three different types of birds and it's amazing.  JT has gotten fast with deboning all those birds.  It only took him one night this time.  The first time he did it it took him 3 days, a bird a day.   We also stuff the three birds with shrimp and andouille sausage stuffing.  The stuffing gives everything a little bit of spice.   The duck does something wonderful to the turkey.  It makes it nice and moist.  Everything is better with duck fat.

Here are some pictures of Christmas dinner:

Poached egg and baco salad with yeast rolls

Butternut squash soup with pumpkin seeds and sour cream

Of course some Champagne with dinner

This week we have been relaxing, eating, and playing.  JT and Addison have this week off so we have been just enjoying spending family time together.  We have built a lot of Lego buildings, watched a lot of movies, and played a lot of video games.

Oh I forgot to mention that our Nespresso machine arrived early.  It arrived before Christmas so it did end up becoming JT's Christmas present.  We have been enjoying espressos and cappuccinos all week.  Addison has been frothing milk like crazy.

I also received a new sauté pan, a cast iron skillet, and some other kitchen stuff.  I will post soon about all of this.  The Godfather gave me a "SodaStream" for Christmas.  I am really excited about this.

I have a new cookbook "Ad Hoc" so I will be back to cooking like crazy.  Well, I need to get ready to go to a cookie party so talk to you guys soon.  I hope everyone is enjoying the rest of the year.  I hope to blog before the new year.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

It's December!!!  I know I'm so cheesy.  The Chosen One becomes Scrooge during the month of December.  I on the other hand love this month.  Christmas is only for one day and it goes by so fast.  But the whole month is wonderful.  The light, music, movies, and parties.  Everyone is just in a better mood.  I am very happy it is December and I am going to savor everyday until this month is over.  Wait, then it my birthday month and yes I celebrate for the whole month.  :)

Well, we have not put up our tree yet.  But we did give Addison his Lego Advent Calendar.  We give him one every year and this years it is Star Wars.  Addison and I kept trying to guess who Santa is going to be. I finally had to google it, because I am the most impatient person in the world (my husband's words not mine), and it is going to Yoda.  Hilarious!!!  I can't wait for Addison to open the last one up on Christmas morning.  He's is going to crack up.

I also have only one final left which I take Friday.  Shout out to Emily, who keeps me sane and awake during Numerical Methods.  I can't believe school is almost over!!!  I think this Christmas will be even more special because I will have graduated with a double degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  That's another reason to enjoy this month because starting January I will have to find a job and start working.  Can that be my present for my birthday month?  Not work until February?  I'm just joking!  Or am I?  And Emily I know what you are thinking and I am not getting pregnant so please stop jinxing me!  :)

I am so ready for the next week to be over.  But I need to watch what I wish for.  I still need to make at least 4 wreaths, finish our Christmas cards, and finish Christmas cards for others to send out.  After all that I can think about making presents for people.  What is the normal time to send out Christmas cards?  2 weeks before Christmas?  I know people who have already sent theirs out.  I am so jealous of those people.  Maybe I will have a nice relaxing weekend and be able to get at least half of my cards done.  Yeah right!

Oh and speaking of the Holidays.  I forgot to mention baking is another thing I love to do in December.  Have you guys seen Bakerella's Gingerbread Heads.  They are amazing!  You can check it out here

Another thing on my list that I want to create before Christmas.  This list keeps getting longer and longer.

I love Bakerella.  She has such great ideas.  I want to make these for my graduation party:

So cute!!

I have been brainstorming about a theme and ideas for my graduation party which is 2 weeks away.  I will let you guys know about those ideas later.

Well, off to craft.  Maybe I can sneak in a nap before Addison gets home.

Talk to you soon.
