Beautiful Pictures

I have so many wonderful pictures to share with you guys.  We went to the Botanical Gardens Saturday and I took over 100 pictures.   We have not been to the Botanical Gardens in over a year.  They have so much new stuff so it was like we had never been.  They did an incredible job with the canopy bridge and the other new additions are also nice.  It was 91 degrees in Atlanta, but the gardens had enough shade to enjoy the whole day.  I think my favorite exhibit is still the orchids.  They are just breath taking.  Oh and the little baby birds we so cute too.  Addison tried to convince me to let him take one home.  :)    Here are some great pictures I took at the Botanical Gardens:

I'll upload all of them on my Pictures page soon.  I think after going through them I'll have about 200 pictures. Crazy!!!

Sunday, The Godfather and Matt came over to go swimming.  The Godfather brought his underwater camera and we took the coolest pictures with it.

Addison is so goofy.  We really had a blast with the camera.

So, we have 2 more weeks for school to start.  I have been so busy trying to get Addison ready for middle school.  He has worn a uniform for 2 years so we had to shop for all new clothes.  I'm also trying to spend as much time with him so sorry that I won't be blogging so often.  I haven't been baking that much either because it is HOT!

Well, Happy Friday everyone and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  We have Addison's 2nd cousin coming over tonight.  Addison is sooo excited.  It should be a blast.  He's a vegetarian so I need to go and starting cooking a vegetarian meal.  I'm thinking pasta with tomatoes and eggplant.  I'll let you guys know how that goes.

Bye for now.

Birthday Party Successful

Chamell's 30th Birthday was so much fun.  Everyone enjoyed the crafts and the desserts.  We all had so much fun we ended up staying at her house for 6 hours.  Now that's a good party.  Chamell loved the pink and white theme.  And loved her cakes and cupcakes.  I had trouble baking Friday because I decided to bake from a new cookbook.  After 2 batches of carrot cake cupcakes rose and then fell, I  found out the publishers printed many mistakes in the cookbook.  So I went to bed and woke up at 9 AM to start all over.  Luckily, I have the best sous chef in the world (my husband, JT) to help me and we baked and iced 24 cupcakes, 12 mini cupcakes and 3 cakes.  I say 3 cakes because I had to bake a strawberry cake and chocolate cake to make the layers.  It took us about 5 hours and we were an hour late to the party but everything turned out great.  I have learned my lesson to not bake out of a new cookbook unless I am just experimenting, not if I have an event.  Here's are some pictures of the party:

As you can see the photo props were a big hit. The pinwheels were beautiful in her front yard and it was kind of windy so the spun all day.   Chamell also would not let anyone touch the little chocolate cake.  It was her own personal cake that she saved for later.  It was a headache doing everything but I had so much fun doing it.  I love how everything turned out.  The great thing is Chamell's sister has asked me to plan her baby shower and she is having twin boys.  I'm think a blue and brown theme or maybe orange and green.  I guess I'll just have to brainstorm.

After the party, Daniel, Michael, JT, the boys, and I went to see Harry Potter.  It was the best Harry Potter movie I have ever seen.  We saw it in IMAX 3D and this was a problem since we were about 6 rows from the front.  Let's just say we were in the movie.  It didn't mind being so close because on opening weekend the theater is packed and the whole audience gets into the movie.  People were cheering and crying.  It was great!

Last night, I saw Midnight in Paris with Vieng and it was wonderful.   I know don't get me started about Paris.  This movie showed all the things I love about Paris and the story was great.  If you haven't seen it yet I suggest you do.  Woody Allen movies are so good.

Well, bye for now.  I will talk more about Paris tomorrow.  I'm thinking it's time for me to start baking macaroons and baguettes.

Au revoir!!!

Ideas Ideas Ideas

I'm still trying to come up with great ideas to make Chamell's birthday party special.  Today is officially her birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAMELL! She's the big 30 now!!!  Now, it is time for her to start having kids.  Hint!  Hint!

While searching online I found these great parties at Pen and Paperflowers.

Beautiful!

Fun!

Classy!

My favorite!

I also found the funniest cupcake toppers The Sweetest Occasion that I have to use now.

Hilarious!!!

I'm starting to get discourage about decorations.  The balloons have arrived and they are so cute.  I'm starting to think that balloons might be enough.  I need to have everything done by Thursday so I can start baking.  I guess it just depends on how much I get done today and tomorrow.

I did purchase these pink egg cartoons from Bake It Pretty.  I was thinking maybe putting macaroons and mini cupcakes in them.

We have completed 20 Pinwheels and 15 cupcake toppers.  We are almost done with the Photobooth props.  So I guess I might have time to do some more things.

Here's what we have complete:

I love how the straws look.

Well, let's see what else we can complete.

Oh before I go, I found the cutest wedding invitation on Oh So Beautiful Paper.  They couple are foodies and love Doris Day.

From one foodie to another, I love it!!

Well, see you guys later.

A Crafty Sunday

I spent all day making things for Chamell's Birthday party.  I usually wait until the last minute to do things but I was excited to start creating.  JT helped out a lot today (the greatest most patience husband ever).  We got most of the Pinwheels done and some of the Photobooth props done.  I'm so happy how everything is turning out.

I have even put some Pinwheels on my Etsy site to sell because they turned out so good.  :)

I still have a lot to finish and still haven't decided what to do about streamers or paper flowers.  And what kind of cupcake toppers am I going to make?  I guess I have time to decide.

Well, I'm going to think about this while a fall asleep tonight.  I'm so happy tomorrow is the first morning this summer that I don't have to wake up early to take Addison to diving or swimming.  Oh and no one is sick, this is going to be a great week!!

Talk to you soon.

Birthday Crafting

So my best friend Chamel is turning 30 and she's having a birthday party at her house next weekend.  First, she wasn't going to have anything but her husband convinced her.  Then she didn't want to do anything big so I of course step in and said I would help.  30 is a big thing and I think we should celebrate.  I being the girl and crafter started brain storming when she finally decided to have a party.  I told her I would make invitations and she said "No, it's too late I will just use Evite."  I gasped and reminded her that it only takes one day for mail to be delivered in Georgia and it's way more nicer and personal that a damn Evite.  She agreed with me because she know I don't back down.  So I first we decided on a color theme, which is pink and white.  Then I made 18 invitations to send out pronto.  Here are the cards and my workstation:

After I finished the invitations, I needed to order party supplies.

I found the cutest straws and balloons at Bake It Pretty.   So cute and pink.

Now I need to decided what decorations I should make.   I found some great DIYs on so many blogs.  I just can't decide what to make.  I can't make it all.

I have found cupcake toppers.

Like these Fabric Ruffled Cake Toppers from The Sweetest Occasion

Or these Fabric Flower Cupcake Toppers from Paige of Style?

And then they are Flag Cupcake Toppers.

I found these on Hank and Hunt.  They are edible flags made out of Fruit by Foot.  Cute?

Even The Sweetest Occasion made these edible ones:

The Sweetest Occasion also made ones out of contact paper.

And Creature Comforts does flags with fabric.  I wonder if I can find pink and white fabric?

So I definitely want to do some kind of cupcake topper.  I just need to decide which one.

I am totally making party hats since it is a kid friendly party.

I found these at Oh Happy Day.

Or what about these from Birthday Girl?

Or these from Fabric Party Hats from Momtastic?

I would also like to make Pinwheels fo the kids.

Look at these little ones from Oh Happy Day.

Oh and look at these Pinwheels from Style Me Pretty.  Wow!

And absolutely I have to make these Pinewheels from Lovely Indeed for her driveway.

I am definitely making these Photo booth Props for Pictures.

I found these at Oh Happy Day.  I love them! With my new camera and these, her birthday pictures will be awesome!!!

And of course I have to do Mustache Prop also.  These are from Tiffany Kelley.

And what about decorations?

These Colorful Mobiles are so pretty from Project Wedding.

Or these Fabric Star Medallions from Martha Stewart.

Or Wall Flowers from Dana Made It?

And these Fringy Streamers are Beautiful from Oh Happy Day.

I will be doing pink flowers in vases.  Look what I found at Poppy Talk?  Painting Bottles and using them as vases.  I would love to find some cheap bottles and do this.

So as you can see I need a lot of help.  I am all over the place.  I have too much to decide on and too much to make.  I only have 7 days to get all of this done on top of baking cupcakes and a cake.

So please can everyone help me decide.  Please leave your comments on what you like to help me out.

Thanks!!!
