Our Future Olympic Star

I am sorry again.  I know it has been a while.  Last week I caught the worst stomach virus and was in bed for 3 days. JT was so sweet and took off of work Tuesday to take care of me.   The horrible thing is JT ended up getting it too and was sick Thursday and Friday.  I am just so thankful Addison did not get it.  We made him stay away from us and our bedroom and went crazy spraying Lysol everywhere.

Last week might have been a horrible sickly week but this weekend was wonderful.  Saturday, Addison had his dive meet at The University of Georgia.  This was another reason we did not want Addison to get sick. He really could not have dived with a stomach flu.  Thank God he did not get it.  So we woke up at 6 AM Saturday and drove an hour and 30 minutes to Athens.  For the first 2 hours Addison had a clinic with some Georgia coaches that helped him on his dives on the 1 meter and 3 meter board. After the clinic the meet started.  Addison started first on the 3 meter board and dived 4 dives.  Addison ended up getting 1st place in his age group (11-12).  He was so excited but he still needed to dive in his next event the 1 meter board.  Addison did 4 dives and ended up messing up on his back dive.  We could tell that he was really sad and were prepared to tell him that it was okay and at least he placed 1st in one event.  Well, they totaled the points and Addison got 1st place on the 1 meter also.  We could not believe it!!!  We were so excited for him.  So now Addison really loves diving and he is a future Olympic Diving Star (until this summer when he wants to swim full time).

Here are some pictures and a movie I made off his dives from the event.

Well, time to go to diving practice.  Talk to you soon.
